Edible Garden Greenhouse - Subject Matter Expert

Here at the highschool, Zay had the opportunity to work with the 4-H Club Manager Toya Moore, as a Horticultural subject matter expert. Via a USDA-funded Farm to School grant, Zay educated students at Southside High school during the hours of the after-school Edible Garden Greenhouse (E.G.G.) program, about horticulture/gardening along with its practices and concepts. Other duties included leading them in horticultural related activities, managing the plants inside and outside the greenhouse,
maintaining the interior and exterior of the greenhouse, tabling at school events, and running the E.G.G. instagram account and correspondence.

Our goal was to provide hands-on experiential learning opportunities and promote a deeper understanding of horticulture/gardening, plants, and natural ecosystems among students.
